As many of you know I interned at Seventeen mag (which is located in the Hearst Tower) during my winter break. This March I was lucky enough to be invited back to the tower for a formal tour! I decided to put together this little vid together to show you guys a look at the conference room on the 44th floor and Elle magazine’s fashion and accessories closets!

Hope y’all enjoy

Last week my school magazine staff and I went to NYC  for the College Media Association Conference. We were super psyched to be there, but the weather was beyond freezing and we all pretty much wanted to ditch our business attire for warm snuggies. Despite all the cuddly temptation we left our blankies back at the hotel, but lucky for me I had the next best thing: my 2128 beanie!

2128 Clothing is a fresh new brand created by Brooklyn’s own Valentina Casamento. I fell completely in love with Val’s personal style when I met her at Teen Vogue’s Fashion University, so you can imagine how excited I was to learn about the launch of her line (#Fangirl)!

Normally I can’t even fit my fro into a beanie or hat, but this one gave me tons of room—the fabric is stretchy but still super soft and comfortable. I went with the studded purple because it’s the perfect mix of pretty and punk. The color is rich and feminine, and the metallic studs add just the right amount of edge to any look!

In the photo above you will see me sporting my little baby with a leather jacket over a graphic tee, and plaid ankle zip pants. I topped this look off with grey loafers, a floral scarf, and silver studded bracelets.

Shop 2128 Clothing or follow the brand on Instagram @2128bk!

Wanna bump up a basic black polish? Mix it up with some nail wraps—but, don’t just stick the appliques on the ring fingers. Stray away from symmetry and give each hand it’s own unique pairing. See how my left hand has stickers on the index finger and thumb, but on my right hand has them on the ring finger and pinky? Ditching the standard ring finger design makes for a totally unexpected edge!

If you like these nail wraps, then check out for similar styles.

Excited to share this interview I did for Lip Smacker on Check it out to see how you can find your perfect Lip Smacker flavor match!

Prom is the time to get a little glitzy; so if you’re going to do an LBD, kick it up a notch with some bangin’ embroidery! This dress’s lace corset is the perf sexy-classy combo, plus it totally makes your waist look smaller.

Since this dress is already drop dead gorg, tone it down a strappy black heel. Grab a few rose gold details. Adding a muted color gives the outfit a pop without killing the subtlety of the all black.

Use a pinky-peach lip to highlight the rose gold, and pull your hair out of your face and up into a crisp top knot to show it all off!

… And walah! xx

Strapless Short Prom Dress, Debs $86.90

Pointy Toe Ankle Bootie, Urbanog $31.90

Quilted Metal Clutch,  NastyGal $25

Glam Girl Rhinestone Studs, Forever21 $4.80

Grand total= $148.60

When it comes to prom some girls stand by the wall, drink punch, mess with their (already perfect) hair, and maybe pose for a selfie or two, but you are soo not that girl! You wanna dance, have fun, and let it all hang out— except not really? That’s where this dress comes in!

See the mini skirt underneath the sheer layer? Look again, because that my friends, is actually a romper! That’s right, with this little baby you can totally kiss any and all dance-floor-fash-malfunctions goodbye.

The slits in the sheer skirt are awesome for showing off shoes, so I chose this mid-calf gladiator heel. It adds a little edge to the monochromatic dress. I highlighted the gold shoes with this peach and gold lucite clutch.

As for jewels, I always let the neckline tell me what type of necklace to grab. In this case I went with a bib because it will fall right above the sweetheart cut and draw the eye down toward the rest of the outfit!

To put the icing on the cake, I threw in some gold stackable knuckle rings and headband that will work with both and updo or a down style.

Beauty Tip: Top the look off with bronze eyeshadow, a peachy cheek, a light pink gloss, and a dewy finish. Now you’re all ready to rock out at your sweet soiree!

Material Girl Sleeveless Illusion Romper, Macys $40.80

Metallic Gladiator Mid-Calf Heel, Urbanog $44.20

Last year around this time I featured a few prom-worthy dresses for penny-saving prices, but this February-April I’m coming at you with full head to toe looks—all of which will be $150 or less!

Nothing says prom quite like a tulle-sequin combo, so to kick off this style series we have a classic look with a modern twist.  This short and chic dress is a total show stopper! It speaks for itself and doesn’t require a ton of accessories to make a statement. With that being said I paired it with a simple closed toe pump and gold and mint details. The mint breaks up the gold by adding a splash of color, but doesn’t take away from the elegance of the look.

Now just add a berry pink lip, and an adorbs braided updo; and you are totally ready for the big night!

Cap Sleeve Sequin and Tulle Dress, Delias $69.90

Studded Pointed Toe Pumps, Bare Feet Shoes $39.99

Glad to See Through Cutout Mint Clutch, LuLu*s $31

Metallic Mix Bracelet Set, Charlotte Russe $6

Timeless Two-Side Studs, Forever21 $2.80

Grand total= $149.78

Trends come and go, but monochromatics totally have a place in my heart forever. This look is the perfect way to be both subtle and stylish. It’s also a great trick to elongating your legs and torso.

Monochrome means same color or hue. This means that you can go head to toe in one color tint, like Bella did at the Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop (left). Or you can switch it up and rock different tints and shades from within the same color family. Check out how Bella’s sporting a highly saturated pink sweater with a more dull pink pant. From her top to her mauve-y booties, it looks like her outfit gets progressively darker or less bright– but it all works because the colors are the same hue.

No doubt Bella is definitely a chroma queen, but you can be one too! Post your own monochrome madness outfit on instagram and tag @LauriseMC for a chance to be featured on YBBF.

Ciao for now, Xx

It’s no shocker that everyone is totally missing summer right about now (including me—sad face), but the fact of the matter is that it is February, it is winter, and it is frickin’ cold. So for the sake of your chapped lips and dry skin, quit posting your beach bikini TBTs for 10 mins and check out my list of cold weather beauty must-haves!

1. Shine So Bright, Lush USA $9.99

This hair treat is quick, easy, and totally necessary for those chilly months. All you do is take a bit of the balm and coat the ends of your strands. This seals in moisture and prevents splitting.

2. LipSlicks Smoochies, Covergirl $4.99

With this little baby, you’ll never have to choose between color and moisture again! The Smoochies are basically like a lipstick balm—providing both color and hydration. It’s my go-to for winter work days!

3. A-Nise Treat, Nicole by OPI $6.99
I wear black and dark pieces pretty much all year long, but in the wintertime a black glitter polish is a must! It’s simple, but still adds a little umph to any outfit.

4. VS Fantasies Vanilla Lace Hydrating Body Lotion, Victoria’s Secret $12
So lotion is like the holy grail of all winter regimens. VS always has a ton of new fruity flavors, but I always go for vanilla. I mean come on– it’s like a classic! If you’re a little more adventurous then me then try their Love Spell. It’s also a pretty popular scent.
